FoAS Dean Prof. Dr. Kamil Kaya delivered a presentation and outlined the meeting's agenda topics between 11:00 and 13:30 on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Dean Kaya stated that there were a total of 2018 students at the FoAS during the educational period, explained the number and qualifications of academic staff by department, and highlighted that there were 23 national articles, 43 international articles, 13 international book-book chapters, 30 international symposiums, and 9 national congresses.
11 national and international project support
Dean Prof. Dr. Kamil Kaya remarked that the FoAS places significant emphasis on research initiatives and announced the funding of 11 international and national projects. He stated that, in addition to the university laboratories used by FoAS in the 2022-2023 academic year, three new laboratories were acquired in the form of an Applied Communication Workshop, an Aircraft Avionics B2 Laboratory, and a Simultaneous Translation Laboratory, and that students were encouraged to participate in practical training. He complimented Mr. Abdulkadir Gayretli, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Rector Prof. Bahri Sahin for their financial and moral support in the establishment of these laboratories. FoAS concluded its presentation by outlining its aims for the 2024 academic year in terms of research, education, institutionalization, globalization, sustainability, student satisfaction, and communication.
Rector Prof. Dr. Bahri Sahin talked about the future goals of our university and the new practices and activities that have taken place, especially about the benefits of the AVESIS and BAPSIS programs on Research-Development and Projects, and provided information on topics such as focusing on industrial cooperation in the concept of management of external stakeholders, improving communication with graduates and increasing belonging to our university, and writing international and national research articles.
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Necmettin Marasli discussed the value of sending students to application and research centers while providing information on the IGU TTO and IGUTEKMER centers.
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Nuri Kuruoglu delivered speeches and provided information regarding the education and training initiatives for 2022–2023.
The meeting's department heads then provided information and explanations regarding their departments in order to convey their projections and goals for improving their educational activities.
