One of the Five Projects to be Supported within the Scope of 'Susfood2-Fosc 2021' is from IGU!


SUSFOOD2 – FOSCH 2021 joint call results have been announced. In the call where 195 researchers from 13 countries and 31 transnational projects took part, Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Fine Arts Deputy Dean Asst. Prof. Murat Doğan is the consultant of the project whose proposal entitled "IPSUS- Innovative climate-friendly foods obtained from recycled sources and using plant and seaweed proteins" has been found suitable for support.


SEEKING SOLUTIONS TO CLIMATE CHANGE, SYSTEM SHOCKS AND LIMITED NATURAL RESOURCES!

FOSC (Food Systems and Climate) and SUSFOOD2 (Sustainable Food Production and Consumption), supported by the European Union under the Horizon 2020 Program in 2020-2021, made a joint call for researchers. The main purpose of the call is to find solutions to climate change, system shocks and limited natural resources in order to make food systems more sustainable in the future. The project "IPSUS - Climate Smart Food Innovation Using Plant and Seaweed Proteins from Upcycled Sources - ", presented under the consultancy of Asst. Prof. Murat Doğan, became one of the five projects to be supported within the scope of scientific research projects of the EU Framework Program.

Asst. Prof. Murat Doğan stated that the research project to be supported within the scope of the call is expected to be projects that use resources efficiently in the creation of sustainable food systems, are resistant to climate effects and offer innovative solutions and added that his project deserves to be supported by successfully meeting all the criteria.

In addition to Turkey, the project consortium also includes universities from England, Morocco and Romania. The project, which has a total budget of 1.5 million Euros, will last for 3 years.
