Nusaybin Film Workshop starts: a documentary of the world's first university will be shot


Nusaybin Film Workshop, which will be organized by Nusaybin District Governorate, Nusaybin Municipality and Istanbul Gelisim University, will start in Nusaybin on November 12 - 13 - 14. High school students participating in the workshop will shoot a documentary film of Nisibis Academy, which is the oldest university in the history of civilization.


Nusaybin Film Workshop begins. High school students from Nusaybin will participate in the workshop, which will be held in cooperation with the Nusaybin District Governorate, Nusaybin Municipality and Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Fine Arts. During the three-day workshop, which will especially be attended by high school students whose families have no member with university degree, students will be given cinema education on various topics from scenario to shooting.

“A DOCUMENTARY OF NISIBIS ACADEMY WILL BE MADE”

On the last day of the Nusaybin Film Workshop, the participants will be asked to prepare a documentary about the Nisibis Academy, which was once the world's first university of education, where philosophy, logic, literature, geometry, astronomy, medicine, and law were taught, so that the participants would have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge.

“IGU WILL EDIT THE IMAGES”

After three days of shooting and training, the images taken by the students will be edited by Istanbul Gelisim University, and the screenings of the documentary films prepared will be held at the gala to be held in Nusaybin, and certificates will be presented to the participants.

“THE WORKSHOP WILL CONTRIBUTE TO OUR DISTRICT”

Underlining that there are great historical treasures in the district and making statements about the workshop, Nusaybin District Governor Ercan Kayabaşı said, “The film workshop to be held in Nusaybin will contribute to our district in many ways. With the project, our children, who are the guarantee of our future, will have the opportunity to realize themselves by entering the kitchen of the cinema, and they will introduce the world's first university, Nisibis Academy, to the whole public with the documentary they will shoot at the end of the workshop. I would like to express my gratitude to the most important stakeholder of the project, Istanbul Gelisim University, and our valuable academicians, for this valuable workshop they offered to our students.”
 
The project manager of the workshop will be IGU Dean of Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp and Assoc. Prof. Nagihan Çakar Bikiç, and the workshop will be conducted by Lecturer and Director Ahmet Bikiç and Emre Doğan, while Research Assistant Okan Kırbacı will take place in the technical team.
