Intense interest from art lovers in the opening of IGU SATMER!


Istanbul Gelisim University Art and Design Application and Research Center (SATMER) opened its doors to art lovers on October 9. IGU Rector Prof. Bahri Şahin emphasized the importance he attaches to art at every opportunity. SATMER Director Mustafa Günay's special exhibition, which consisting of 3 series, attracted great attention.


Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), which stands out with its emphasis on art, aims to shed light on the artists of the future by strengthening its communication with the art community nationally and globally thanks to the Art and Design Application and Research Center (SATMER) established within its structure. At the opening of SATMER, where projects to expand art towards industry are planned within the scope of industry-university cooperation, a special exhibition consisting of three different technical series and 50 works attracted attention.



Projects will be carried out within the scope of university-industry cooperation

Stating that the first series of the exhibition included 20 works of reproduction of the works of famous artists by participating in modern interpretations and adaptation to the advertising concept, Mustafa Günay also added,  "In this series, the works of famous artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Michalengelo, Henri Matisse, Johennes Vermeer, Hoca Ali Rıza and Osman Hamdibey were transformed into a film and event poster advertising concept with various brands reproduced by participating in modern interpretations and projected within the scope of art-industry cooperation and turned into an advertising concept with the relevant companies. It is planned to carry out projects with various companies within the scope of university-industry cooperation by the Art and Design Application and Research Center (SATMER) opened within Istanbul Gelisim University."

Stating that the other two series within the scope of the exhibition consist of portrait works, Asst. Prof. Mustafa Günay: "One of the series was produced as a charcoal and the other as a digital illustration. In the charcoal series, which consists of portraits of old people from many cultures of the world, it is aimed to explain the reflection of life and experiences on the human face. The traces and reflections of the difficulties, troubles, happiness and unhappiness experienced in life on the human face over time are explained. In the series consisting of digital portrait studies in which the cerebral reflections of the confusion of life in life are explained, it was created in an illustrative way using various graphic programs."
