Istanbul Gelisim University will host more than 30 companies and expert chefs, especially Chef Mehmet Yalçınkaya, as the Guest of Honor at the Gastronomy Festival to be held for the first time at IGU Tower Garden on May 15, 2024.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevinç Koçak, Vice Dean of Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Applied Sciences, visited Tekirdağ on Wednesday, May 8, with the organization prepared under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Kamil Kaya, Dean of Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Applied Sciences, and met with Tekirdağ Provincial Director of National Education Ersan Ulusan. Projects planned to be carried out on the principle of lifelong learning, which supports Istanbul Gelisim University's understanding of community service and sustainability, and collaborations with the Directorate of National Education were discussed.

"Masticatory Symposium" was organized by Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Dentistry. Experts in their fields made comprehensive and informative presentations on various topics about chewing.

Continuing to progress with the vision of "World University", Istanbul Gelisim University held a meeting with the delegation from Iraq in order to contribute to the development of Türkiye-Iraq relations and to realize academic collaborations.

Res. Asst. Eda Türkay, from Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, attended the sustainable film production workshop held at Brunel University, London, with her short film project Kusur.

The group painting exhibition titled "From Past to Present", which opened at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Gelişim Art Gallery on April 30, 2024, at 13:00, where the works of 25 artists who are members of the "Bakırköy Artists Association" were exhibited, met with art lovers. The exhibition, organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Gelişim Vocational School and BASAD Bakırköy Artists Association and curated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Günay, will be presented to visitors until May 13, 2024.

Orthodontist Asst. Prof. Dr. Merve Kurt Bıyıklıoğlu explained the questions about transparent aligners, which are frequently preferred by those who want to have aligned teeth and a healthy smile but are hesitant to use braces, and emphasized that transparent aligners are also suitable for children's use.

Istanbul Gelisim University Vocational School (IGUMYO) Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lokman Kantar's project titled "Initial Public Offerings (IPO) in the Republic Period and Examining the Effect of the Media on the Initial Public Offering Process" was entitled to be supported within the scope of the 1001-Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program carried out by TUBITAK Research Support Programs Directorate (ARDEB).

Istanbul Gelisim University Rector Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Arda Öztürkcan, Quality Coordinator Prof. Dr. Hasan Hakan Bozkurt and Quality Coordinatorship attended the "2024 YÖKAK International Quality Assurance and Accreditation Conference" organized by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK).

In the "2023 Türkiye's Patent Report" announced by Patent Effect, Istanbul Gelisim University attracted attention with its patent applications. Moving forward with the vision of "Research University", Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) maintained its top place with the number of applications it made in the "Turkish Patent Applications" list, which lists the universities in Türkiye. IGU also became the "Turkish Patent Champion" in the "Artificial Intelligence Technologies" category among universities.
